Seb Silverback

Strawberry Skunk crossed with Jack Light, sour and berry-like enough on the nose to earn the Goji name honestly. The high is strong, energetic and cerebral, good for sparking creativity, and arrives via a sativa-dominant plant that flowers fast and grows uniformly despite its heritage.

Where it comes from

Strawberry Skunk crossed with Jack Light by Sumo Seeds, a sativa-dominant pairing the record puts at 75 per cent sativa. Strawberry Skunk lends the berry sweetness the strain is named for, Jack Light the haze pedigree and the lift. The record calls it very rare and special, and uniform in its phenotypes, with little variation from plant to plant. The Goji name, as you will see, is honestly come by.

Nose & flavour

The aroma is sour and berry-like, which is exactly where the Goji name comes from, and the record makes the connection plainly. It is a sweet, distinctive take on a haze, the tart berry note setting it apart from the more usual citrus and spice. The record promises it will have the taste buds wanting more, and the sourness is what does the persuading. A bright, moreish nose.

The high

A very strong, energetic and cerebral effect, the record has it, the sort that sparks creativity and gets the mind moving. This is a lively, heady disposition rather than a settling one, true to the sativa dominance. Good company for creative work or a busy afternoon, and, given the strength, best met with a measured first draw rather than an ambitious one.

Growing it

Despite the sativa lean, she finishes fairly fast for the type, flowering across 63 to 70 days, or nine to ten weeks by the record's reckoning. She reaches a medium 100 to 120cm and returns 300 to 550 g/m². The record marks the THC only as high, giving no figure, so I will leave it at that rather than invent one. A uniform, even crop with little pheno variation makes her a tidy plant to manage. Approachable, for a haze.
