Seb's take

Seb Silverback

The Hearse Strain and Thin Mint Cookies, a collaboration between Barney's Farm and Doja Exclusive, produce a fittingly named, resin-loaded 70% indica. Sweet diesel and spice dominate the nose, with a hint of fruit; the high is relaxing without dulling the mind, creative and uplifting throughout. Compact indoors, considerably taller out — give her the headroom, though not, one hopes, permanently.

Where it comes from

A collaboration between Barney's Farm and Doja Exclusive, crossing The Hearse Strain with Thin Mint Cookies. Seventy percent indica, and a lineage as cheerfully morbid as the name, though the plant itself is a good deal livelier than its branding suggests. The Cookies side brings the sweetness and the resin, the Hearse side the muscle. A fittingly named cross that blends real potency with surprisingly balanced effects.

Nose & flavour

A rich diesel sweetness leads, layered with spice and a hint of fruit underneath, fuel-forward but rounded rather than harsh. The Cookies parentage shows in the sweetness, the diesel in the depth. It is a robust, moreish nose, and the thick, resin-loaded buds carry plenty of it.

The high

A relaxing body feel that, notably, does not flatten your thinking, leaving space for creative ideas to wander in, uplifting with it. The indica majority settles the body while the head stays clear enough to be of use. A comfortable, unhurried effect that keeps better company than its funereal name would have you fear.

Growing it

A feminized plant at 30% THC, so very much a sipping strain rather than a session one. Flowering runs 63 to 70 days, roughly nine to ten weeks. Structurally she leans compact and indica indoors, 100 to 120cm, while stretching into a taller, more expressive form outdoors, so give her the headroom in the open, though not, one hopes, permanently. The record praises her predictable behaviour and strong branching, which keeps canopy management straightforward. Yields are heavy at 641 g/m². A well-mannered plant behind a grim name.
