Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Californian Orange crossed with an Unknown Skunk parent who preferred to remain nameless. Vanilla, coffee, honey and nutty sweetness on the nose; the high runs happy, euphoric and creative, with hunger arriving not far behind. Easy to trim, thanks to a high calyx-to-leaf ratio, and easy to like.

Where it comes from

The Bulldog Seeds crossed Californian Orange with a Skunk parent they decline to name, an unknown Skunk, on the record, and I shan't pry further than the paperwork allows. The orange lends brightness, the skunk its familiar backbone. An indica-sativa hybrid selected chiefly for a sweet taste and a long-lasting effect, and finished with the kind of crystal coat that flatters a plant across a counter.

Nose & flavour

Not an orange at all, in the end, but a dessert trolley, vanilla and coffee up front, honey and a nutty sweetness behind. A rich, indulgent nose that leans well away from the fruit its parent might have promised. Smooth and moreish with it.

The high

Happy and euphoric, easing into relaxation, with a creative streak and, inevitably, hunger arriving close behind, so keep something to hand. At 22 percent THC with a little CBD alongside, there is genuine strength beneath the comfort. Good-natured, sociable company rather than a quiet corner.

Growing it

Easy to grow and, thanks to a high calyx-to-leaf ratio, notably easy to clean and dry after harvest, the sort of plant that behaves itself right through to the jar. She flowers in 56 to 63 days, roughly eight to nine weeks, at 22 percent THC and a listed 1 percent CBD, and yields well by the breeder's account. No height figure is recorded, so watch her habit. Forgiving of enthusiasm, and generous in return.
