Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Lemon, fruit and citrus on the nose from a Mad Scientist and Voodoo cross — the latter a legendary Dutch Passion Thai line. The genetics are intentionally unstable, so expect variety among phenotypes, but the potency and the relaxed, happy, euphoric high are the constants.

Where it comes from

Dutch Passion crossed Mad Scientist with Voodoo, the latter one of their own Thai lines and a name that carries some weight in the right rooms. Both parents were chosen for dominant genetics selected chiefly on effect, and the house left the cross deliberately unstable, which is to say they wanted the variety rather than tidied it away. Expect phenotypes that differ from one seed to the next, a small adventure built into the packet. The lineage is Thai at heart, and it shows in the character that follows.

Nose & flavour

Lemon leads, bright and clean, with a broader fruity sweetness and a citrus edge behind it. Nothing muddied, nothing shy, the sort of nose that announces its parentage plainly enough. Given the Thai line in the background, that brightness is entirely in keeping. A lively, forward profile rather than a subtle one.

The high

Relaxed, happy and euphoric, and by the breeder's own account extremely potent, a sipping strain rather than a session one. Approach as you would a staircase in the dark, at least until you know which phenotype you have drawn. The effect is the constant across the varied pack; the potency is the other.

Growing it

Feminized, and flowering in around 63 days for a yield of about 500 g/m². THC is listed at 16 to 22 percent, which is a fair spread and a fair warning. The intentionally unstable genetics mean you will meet a range of expressions across a grow, so treat each plant on its own merits rather than expecting a uniform room. Give her honest observation and she rewards the attention. No height figure is recorded, so watch her habit and manage accordingly.
