Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Blueberry and berry sweetness with a tropical, cheesy undertone that does not travel discreetly — filtration is not a suggestion. Conceived in 1996 from two award-winning parents, Bubblegum and Blueberry, she went on to take the San Francisco Bay Area Growers award herself, and the high remains happy, euphoric and creative.

Where it comes from

Sagarmatha Seeds first conceived BubbleBerry in 1996, combining the fine qualities of two award-winning parents — the famous Bubblegum and Blueberry lines. The record tells the rest with evident pride: in 1998 and 1999 she took the prestigious San Francisco Bay Area Growers award, a legend made in the grow rooms of connoisseurs. Sagarmatha are gracious enough to credit the individual growers for their part in that victory, which is a courtesy one notes. A perfect hybrid of two celebrated names, and a decorated one.

Nose & flavour

Blueberry and berry sweetness lead, with a tropical lift and a cheesy undertone beneath — a fuller, more surprising profile than the Blueberry parentage alone would suggest. The record is firm on one point: filtering the air is mandatory when cultivating her, as she does not travel discreetly. A luscious, layered aroma, and a loud one — worth the carbon filter it demands.

The high

Happy, euphoric and creative, with a relaxed, uplifted character running alongside — a well-rounded effect that lifts the mood without pinning you down. The record calls her a satisfying variety with a legend to her name, and the experience earns the reputation. Bright, agreeable company, equally at home occupying an afternoon or seeing out an evening.

Growing it

A regular strain, flowering in 65 days at a medium 70 to 100cm, with a modest 300 to 325 g/m² yield and 19% THC alongside a point of CBD. Being regular seed, she will throw both sexes, so expect to sort them — the trade the traditionalist accepts for the breeding stock. The record leans on her pedigree and her aroma above all; take the hint on the filter, give her a proper cure, and the two award-winning parents make themselves felt.
