Where it comes from
Cali Connection built Boss Hogg from Chem 4 and a Chem 4 backcross, BX1 marking the second parent as the first bred back into itself to fix its traits. That makes this an almost undiluted Chem line, and the breeders are frank about the purpose: their cash cropper, an all-rounder bred for the commercial grower who wants yield, resin, aroma and flavour in one dependable package. No romance in the pedigree, then, just a well-drilled workhorse doing precisely the job it was designed for.
Nose & flavour
Citrus and diesel lead, the unmistakable Chem signature, over a pungent, earthy base with a sweet edge lifting the top. It is a loud, fuel-forward nose that does not travel discreetly, exactly as a Chem-heavy line should be. Sharp, savoury and unmistakable: this one announces the room it is in.
The high
The effect runs bright and sociable, euphoric, happy and uplifted, with a creative push and a tingle at the edges. At 20 percent THC it lifts without pinning you, keeping enough momentum for an afternoon that still has plans in it. Good-humoured, energetic company rather than an evening's anchor.
Growing it
The record is sparing on the figures, giving a flowering time of 65 to 70 days and stopping there, so rather than invent a height or a yield, I will note her purpose instead.
