Seb Silverback

Blueberry Auto keeps the sweet, nostalgic blueberry aroma of the wider Blue family while trimming the wait, tracing back through Ruderalis and Northern Lights to old Thai and Afghan hill stock. Sweet, flowery, and earthy on the nose, the high runs tingly and euphoric before settling into a happy, hungry sleepiness. A shorter route to the same old destination.

Where it comes from

Zambeza built their Blueberry Auto to keep the sweetness of the wider Blue family while trimming the wait, crossing the original Blueberry with Ruderalis and Northern Lights. The record traces the line back further still, to the old-school growers of the California and Oregon hills who first worked Thai and Afghan stock into these fruited hybrids. So there is real history folded into a modern autoflower here: a long pedigree, packed down into a plant that finishes on its own clock.

Nose & flavour

Blueberry and berry throughout, sweet and flowery up top with an earthy base beneath, the record calls it a nostalgic aroma, and that is fair enough for a plant descended directly from the strain that started the family. Nothing has been lost in the shrinking down; the fruit reads as ripe and full as its photoperiod forebears.

The high

The full Indica set, in roughly its usual order: tingly and euphoric at the top, happy and relaxed through the middle, hungry and sleepy by the end. At 14 percent THC against 3 percent CBD it is a gentle, rounded high rather than an overwhelming one, an easy evening's company that asks nothing of you but a comfortable chair.

Growing it

As an autoflower she runs from seed to harvest on her own schedule, finishing in eight to nine weeks and staying compact at 60 to 90cm, no headroom worries here. Indoor yields are modest at 300 to 350 g/m², which is the honest trade for that quick, small habit. The Ruderalis and Northern Lights in her make for a hardy, undemanding plant, and the whole appeal is exactly that: the old Blueberry character on a shorter, simpler route to the jar.
