Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Berry, blueberry and earth on the nose, flowery at the edges — pleasant enough that the effect that follows comes as something of an ambush. Euphoric, giggly and happy, but heavy-bodied and direct with it: approach as you would a staircase in the dark, and expect the hunger and dry mouth that follow.

Where it comes from

Rare Dankness bred Blue OX from Old Blue and OX, and kept it as a regular seed line, one for growers content to sort their own males from females in exchange for the fuller genetic hand that regulars deal. She sits at a decisive 90 percent Indica, which tells you most of what you need to know about her intentions before a word is said about the effect. A straightforward, heavy-leaning cross from a house that trades on exactly that.

Nose & flavour

Berry and blueberry lead, set over an earthy base with a soft floral note lifting the top, a pleasant, almost genteel aroma that rather undersells what follows. The nose is the polite handshake; the effect is the conversation you did not quite see coming.

The high

Here the manners end. She comes on strong and direct, euphoric, giggly and happy on the way in, then a heavy, settling body weight that the breeders themselves flag as potentially overwhelming and no place for a lightweight. Approach as you would a staircase in the dark. Expect a healthy appetite and a dry mouth to arrive with the rest, and at 21 percent THC, expect to be staying in.

Growing it

As a regular strain she is one for the more committed grower, you will be sexing seedlings and culling males, which is the trade for keeping breeding options open. The record gives a flowering window of 60 to 70 days and stops there, offering no height or yield to quote, so I will describe her disposition rather than fabricate figures: a heavily Indica-dominant plant of that flowering length tends toward the compact and the dense. Nine to ten weeks of flower, and the rest you will learn by growing her.
