Seb's take

Seb Silverback

A third-generation refinement of Big Devil Auto, bred for size rather than restraint — remarkably tall for an autoflower at up to 1.5m outdoors. Sweet, spiced, and skunky on the nose, with a relaxed, happy, energetic high, and an odour strong enough to need proper mitigation.

Where it comes from

The first genetic evolution of Big Devil Auto, and a third-generation autoflower from Sweet Seeds, bred in answer to demand for something larger and heavier-yielding. The lineage runs back to Skunk stock, and the balance is near-even — forty-three indica to forty-four sativa — which is unusual poise for an auto. What sets it apart is size: remarkably tall for the type, and unapologetic about it.

Nose & flavour

Sweetness leads, with a spiced edge behind it and the family Skunk pushing up an unmistakable pungency underneath. It is a fuller, louder nose than the sweetness alone would suggest — the sort that announces itself well before the jar is open. It does not travel discreetly.

The high

The near-even make-up shows in the effect: relaxed and happy with a genuine streak of energy running through, neither pinning you down nor sending you racing. At nineteen to twenty per cent it is a capable, versatile high that suits company and daylight as readily as an evening. Balanced, in the truest sense of the word.

Growing it

Tall for an auto and proud of it — indoors she reaches around 1.2 metres, outdoors as much as 1.5. Seed to harvest runs roughly sixty-three days for a return of 400 to 600 g/m² of compact, sticky bud. The one thing to plan for is the smell: a strong odour that wants proper mitigation, especially near neighbours. Give her the headroom and a good filter, and she repays both.
