Named for the Clare wise woman said to see things others couldn't — fitting, since this one is eager to flower before you've finished deciding you're ready. Sweet, lavender, and lemon-pine on the nose, with an energetic, focused, uplifted high that belies her beginner-friendly price tag.
Where it comes from
Named for Biddy Early, the Clare herbalist and 'wise woman' said to see what others could not — a fitting title for a plant this eager to get on with things. Serious Seeds built it from their Magus line as a deliberate beginner's model, kept cheap so a smaller budget could still grow something of their quality. It took second place at a 2003 competition, which for a starter strain is no faint praise. Under cool temperatures she blushes red and purple.
Nose & flavour
A floral, almost perfumed nose — lavender and general flowery notes up top, sweet candy underneath, with lemon and pine sharpening the edges. The record calls the earthiness unfamiliar, and it is a fair warning: this is not a standard profile but a distinctive, garden-fresh one. Pleasant and surprising in equal measure.
The high
For a beginner's plant, the effect punches above its price. Energetic, focused, and uplifted, with a creative, euphoric edge — a clear-headed, daytime lift rather than anything that settles you. The record's own word is 'powerful', which the low sticker price rather undersells. Sociable, productive company for the front half of the day.
Growing it
The intended virtue is forgiveness — this is Serious Seeds' starter model, bred for the novice and priced accordingly. Flowering runs fifty to sixty days for a return of 300 to 400 g/m², and she reaches a tall two metres, so give her the headroom. One quirk: she is so willing to flower that holding a mother plant in vegetation takes a firm hand. For a first grow, though, that eagerness is rather the point.
