Named for the poisonous nightshade, though the effect here is rather more sociable than lethal — peach, earthy, and blue cheese notes with a woody berry undertone. The high runs happy, giggly, and uplifted, occasionally tipping into something faintly psychedelic, and suits daytime use rather better than its namesake would.
Where it comes from
Named for the deadly nightshade — belladonna, 'beautiful lady' in the Italian, and a plant historically rather less sociable than this one. No parentage is recorded, which suits the theme: a mystery with a dangerous name and an agreeable temperament. Paradise Seeds tilt her toward the sativa side at sixty per cent, with a whisper of CBD alongside, and the effect, mercifully, bears no resemblance to her botanical namesake.
Nose & flavour
An unusual nose, and the more interesting for it. Peach leads, soft and fruity, with berry alongside, over an earthy, woody base. Then the surprise: a distinct note of blue cheese sitting underneath, funky and savoury, the sort of thing that should not work and rather does. Seductive is the breeder's word, and for once it is earned.
The high
The effect runs happy, giggly, and uplifted, a thought-provoking sort of lift that suits company and creative work alike. At the top end it can tip into something faintly psychedelic — nothing alarming, but worth knowing before you commit to a busy afternoon. It leans daytime and sociable, though the recorded sleepiness suggests she will see you gently out the door by evening.
Growing it
A compact plant, seventy-five to eighty-five centimetres, which keeps her manageable indoors and easy to tuck away. Flowering settles at around sixty days, and she returns in the region of 450 g/m² — a solid, unshowy harvest. The sixty-forty sativa lean means a little more stretch than a pure indica, but nothing that headroom and a steady eye will not handle. Straightforward to bring home, for all the drama of the name.
