A Cannabis Cup winner from Skunk #1 and Afghani Hash Plant, finishing in a remarkably quick forty to forty-five days for such thickly resinous buds. Skunk and earth meet a citrus edge on the nose, and the high is the sitting-down sort — sleepy, relaxed, and thoroughly calming.
Where it comes from
Sensi Seeds crossed Skunk #1 with an Afghani hash plant to make Super Skunk, and the pairing has a Cannabis Cup to its name. The Skunk brings the sharpness and the Afghani the resin and the weight, giving an 80 per cent indica that is easy to grow and produces intensely thick, resinous buds indoors and out. A classic of its kind, and a plant whose distinctive Skunk-like growing pattern gives it away long before the flowers finish.
Nose & flavour
Skunk and earth lead the nose, with a citrus edge cutting across the top, and though the aroma is unmistakable it is described as not too overpowering, a beautiful scent that fills a room without dominating it. The Afghani grounds the Skunk sharpness in something rounder and heavier. A recognisable, satisfying nose that carries the family name plainly while keeping its manners.
The high
The sitting-down sort. The effect runs sleepy, relaxed and thoroughly calming, the indica weight of the Afghani half very much in charge, settling the body and quietening the day. It is a gentle, unhurried descent rather than a demanding one, the kind of high that leaves you disinclined to be needed elsewhere. Good company for an evening with nothing left to do in it.
Growing it
A fast finisher, remarkably so, flowering in 45 to 50 days despite the density of the resin the buds carry. She reaches a medium 120 to 150cm indoors, with the distinctive Skunk growth habit, and the thick buds blossom toward the middle of the bloom. The yield is a modest 125 g/m² indoors, though outdoors the plant gives a large, heavy harvest of thick, resinous flower. THC sits at 16 per cent, with a touch of CBD. Easy to grow and quick to reward, if not the heaviest yielder of the family.
