Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Still Bubba, from Totally Alpha OG and Bubba Kush, was bred for resilience above all, a plant that first-time growers have tried and failed to kill, and unfavourable weather hasn't managed either. Sweet, hashy, and earthy on the nose, the high runs relaxed, euphoric, and creative in a genuinely multifaceted way. Forgiving of enthusiasm, and of neglect.

Where it comes from

Totally Alpha OG crossed with Bubba Kush, and resilience was plainly the brief. AlphaFem worked to keep the ironclad constitution of both parents, and by the record's account first-time growers have tried to kill her and failed - unfavourable weather has managed no better. An indica-dominant hybrid that treats neglect and bad conditions as minor inconveniences. Bred, in short, to survive its owner.

Nose & flavour

Sweet at the front, with a nutty, hashy depth and an earthy base - the classic indica flavour, dressed a little richer than most. Nothing sharp or citric here; this is the warm, resinous end of the spectrum, the sort of aroma that fills a room slowly and stays a while.

The high

Relaxed and euphoric with a creative thread running through it - genuinely multifaceted, in that it moves rather than simply sitting still. The body settles while the mind wanders somewhere productive. A rounded, potent effect that rewards a little time set aside for it.

Growing it

About as forgiving as a plant gets - forgiving of enthusiasm, of neglect, and of weather that would see off a lesser strain. She finishes near 120cm over a sixty to sixty-five day flower for around 400 g/m². THC is a heavyweight 26 per cent, with an unusually generous 2 per cent CBD alongside. A hassle-free grow with a serious payload; approach the finished article as you would a staircase in the dark.
