Five strains deep — Z, Gelato, Wedding Cake, Triangle Kush and Skunk #1 all stacked into one layer cake of a lineage, stabilised into something uniform and forgiving of enthusiasm. Citrus and earth sit over a diesel edge on the nose; the high runs cerebral and uplifting before the body settles firm. At 27% THC, dubbed strain of the year by its own makers, which is at least consistent.
Where it comes from
Five strains stacked into one layer cake of a pedigree, Zkittlez and Gelato from the Runtz side, Wedding Cake and Triangle Kush for depth and structure, and Skunk #1 anchoring the base. Barney's Farm have stabilised the whole tower into something uniform and vigorous, which is no small feat with a lineage this deep. The two Runtz parents lead on flavour; the Kush and Skunk stock lend the backbone. A great deal of genetics, kept in good order.
Nose & flavour
Citrus and earth over a diesel edge, with the tropical Runtz sweetness threaded through, a fuller, more savoury profile than the fruitier members of the family, thanks to the Skunk and Kush in the mix. Robust rather than purely sweet, with plenty going on. A layered nose, fittingly enough.
The high
A cerebral rush up top, followed by a strong body high beneath, the 50/50 balance playing out as a lift and a settle in turn. Relaxed, happy and creative, it keeps the mind loose while the body eases down. At 27% THC there is proper weight to it, but the character stays sociable and generative rather than flattening. Even-handed company.
Growing it
Forgiving, for all its complicated parentage. Barney's have stabilised her into uniform, vigorous plants that go easy on beginners and ask little in the way of maintenance. She stands 100 to 130cm, flowers in 65 to 70 days, and turns in a heavy 600 to 650 g/m². Her makers went so far as to dub her strain of the year, which is at least a consistent sort of confidence. At 27% THC, a generous, good-natured grow.
