How to grow Purple #1
Taste
Seb's take
A purple Afghani crossed with Sativa and Indica lines, bred so faithfully that up to ninety percent of plants turn a genuine violet at the start of flowering. Spice, fruit and diesel on the nose, with a happy, energetic, euphoric high. Fully adapted to Dutch weather, and no less colourful for it.
Where it comes from
A purple Afghani crossed into Sativa and Indica lines, and one of Dutch Passion's older achievements, bred so faithfully that up to ninety percent of plants turn a genuine violet at the start of flowering. Fully adapted to the Dutch climate, and by extension the wider European one, which is no small thing for a plant with Afghani blood. The colour is not a novelty here; it is the whole point, and it breeds true.
Nose & flavour
Spice and fruit up front, with a diesel undertone giving it some grip, a more assertive nose than the colour might lead you to expect. Not a sweet, dessert profile but a sharper, fuel-tinged one, with more edge to it than its pretty appearance implies.
The high
The effect runs happy and euphoric with an energetic lift, keeping to the brighter, more sociable end. A daytime disposition, well matched to a balanced fifty-fifty makeup, and cheerful company that leaves the head clear enough to enjoy the colour it came from.
Growing it
Tall, and decidedly so, 150 to 250cm, so give her the headroom, particularly outdoors where she was bred to thrive. Fifty-six days in flower, returning 300 to 400 g/m². THC spans a wide 7 to 15%, gentle at the low end, with 1% CBD. Hardy in a cool, damp European summer, and colourful reward for the space she demands.
