Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Stabilised from Afghani and Thai landraces by Nevil Schoenmakers in the mid-1980s, and rightly credited with starting half the family tree that follows. Sweet, spiced and fruity on the nose, tough against mould and poor weather alike, she forms one dense, sticky cola in 7–8 weeks with little complaint. The high settles you down rather than sets you off.

Growing Northern Light: what to expect

Feminized photoperiod stock. You control when she flowers, which is a responsibility as much as a convenience; the light schedule guide keeps you on the right side of it.

She takes a conventional 9 weeks to flower. Conventional is underrated; so is knowing what week you're in.

Expect roughly 160 cm of plant. Manageable, though she'll appreciate a little training if your headroom is tight.

Expect 500 – 550 g/m² — a working grower's yield, reliable rather than theatrical. The harvest guide will see it in safely.

Listed at 18% THC — potent, verifiably. The figure comes from the breeder's testing, not from our enthusiasm.

Sweetness leads on the nose, and she doesn't whisper it.

Grower reports give her a relaxed lean: unhurried company for an unhurried evening.
