Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Hindu Kush highland stock crossed with a vigorous Skunk phenotype and an Original OG gives this 95% indica its icon status honestly earned. Pepper dominates the nose, finishing earthy with hints of citrus; the high is a proper body stone — relaxed, happy and eventually sleepy, cerebral concerns left elsewhere. The sitting-down sort, unmistakably.

Where it comes from

Hindu Kush highland stock crossed with a vigorous Skunk phenotype and an Original OG gives this 95 percent indica its icon status honestly earned. Humboldt Seeds trace the line back to an original highland landrace and build outward from there — the Skunk lends the vigour, the OG the backbone. Master Kush is more physical than cerebral, exactly as a plant of this lineage should be, and makes no apology for it.

Nose & flavour

Pepper dominates — a dominating peppery overtone, in the record's own words — finishing on an earthy note, with hints of citrus that grow more distinct with every draw. Spice, lemon and soil in that order. A savoury, grounded nose rather than a sweet one, and none the worse for it.

The high

A proper body stone — relaxed and happy, tipping steadily toward sleepy, with the cerebral side left largely out of it. This is what a 95 percent indica is for: weight rather than sparkle, the evening rather than the errand. The sitting-down sort, unmistakably, and lasting with it.

Growing it

Fast and tall. Flowering runs 50 to 55 days, and she climbs to 200 to 300cm, so give her the headroom she demands. Yields are strong at 500 to 550 g/m². THC is recorded at 24 percent — no small figure. A vigorous grower true to its Skunk half, and worth the vertical space for the returns. Train her early and she will pay it back at harvest.
