Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Lemon Skunk and Sour Diesel meet at a near-perfect 55/45 indica-sativa split, and the balance shows in the effect as much as the genetics. Sour, lemon and citrus dominate the nose, and the high is powerful and long-lasting without pulling hard in either direction — relaxed, happy, euphoric.

Where it comes from

Barney's Farm crossed Lemon Skunk with Sour Diesel, two parents of complex composition, and arranged them at a near-even 55/45 indica-sativa split. The record makes much of that equilibrium, and with reason — both parents bring a powerful smell and taste as well as a powerful effect, so the balance is one of intensities meeting rather than being tempered. Lemon Skunk for the citrus, Sour Diesel for the fuel.

Nose & flavour

Sour leads, with lemon and citrus close behind — the Sour Diesel and Lemon Skunk parentage arriving together and pulling in the same direction. A sharp, tangy nose rather than a sweet one, bright but with real weight to it. Loud, and cheerfully so.

The high

Relaxed, happy and euphoric, a powerful and long-lasting effect that, thanks to the balance, pulls hard in neither direction. It settles the body without flattening the head, or lifts the head without abandoning the body — the best of both, as the record has it. Even-handed company that outstays most.

Growing it

Flowering takes 65 to 70 days, the plant staying compact at 90 to 100cm, with heavy yields of 600 to 650 g/m², THC at 25% and CBD at 0.9%. A tidy 55/45 hybrid that packs a considerable harvest into a modest frame — welcome news for anyone short on height. The stature keeps her manageable indoors, and the near-even split makes for a plant without the extreme habits of either parent. A straightforward grow with a generous return.
