Born from a lucky accident, a rare Critical Kush phenotype spotted mid-project and crossed with Mintz to make this 70% indica. Pine, mint and coffee lead the nose, and the high runs uplifting, relaxed and happy at a controlled 26% THC. Some of the best strains, it turns out, are unplanned.
Where it comes from
Born, by Barney's Farm's own telling, from a lucky accident, a rare Critical Kush phenotype spotted mid-project on another strain entirely and kept for this one. Crossed with Mintz, it became a 70% indica of real weight. The Critical Kush lends the yield and the kush backbone; the Mintz the cooling, herbal top note. Some of the best plants, it turns out, are the ones nobody set out to make.
Nose & flavour
Pine and mint up top with a coffee note underneath, a warm, roasted depth beneath the cooling freshness. An unusual and rather grown-up nose. More layered than the mint alone suggests.
The high
Uplifting, relaxed and happy, a balanced effect that lifts before it settles rather than flattening from the outset. Even-tempered company for most of a day. Given the strength behind it, still one to meet at a sensible pace.
Growing it
A medium plant of 100 to 120cm, flowering across 56 to 65 days. Yields are heavy, 600 to 650 g/m², and THC sits at 26%, tempered by an unusually high 1.6% CBD. A feminized line that pairs a serious potency with a manageable stature, which is a welcome combination. A well-behaved grow that gives a great deal back. The happy accident rather earns its keep.
