Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Early Skunk, Trainwreck, Mexican and Hawaiian Sativas folded into one Ruderalis-backed autoflower — the name is the only alarming thing about her. Pine and nutty notes on the nose; the high is euphoric, energetic and creative, properly Sativa in character. Fast to finish, at eight to nine weeks, and better fed generously than gently.

Where it comes from

Four established names fold into this one: Early Skunk, Trainwreck, and Mexican and Hawaiian sativa stock, with a Ruderalis clone added by Fast Buds to make her autoflower. The result leans sativa at around 60 percent. The record is at pains to point out that despite the name, she is entirely ordinary cannabis; the alarming word on the packet is the only alarming thing about her. A complex, well-travelled pedigree in an easy-going autoflowering package.

Nose & flavour

A clean pine sharpness up front, with a nutty warmth sitting behind it, resinous and dry rather than sweet or fruity. It is a more savoury nose than most autoflowers offer, and a more interesting one for it. Fresh at the top, roasted underneath.

The high

Euphoric, energetic and creative, squarely sativa in character, and a daytime affair by temperament. This is a lift for getting on with things rather than settling into the sofa, upward and clear-headed at a listed 21 percent THC. Bright company for a working morning or a walk with somewhere to go.

Growing it

An autoflower that finishes in eight to nine weeks, sixty-three to seventy days by the record. She usually stays below a metre, though some plants reach 120cm outdoors or under hydro. Indoor yields run 450 to 600 g/m². Her growth is fast and hungry: the record notes she takes higher feeding than most, so do not be timid with nutrients. Give her that and she pays it back. A vigorous, undemanding grow for the space she occupies.
