Earthy, sweet and pungent, with blueberry and skunk close behind — a nose that announces itself before you find the jar. The high runs relaxed, happy and uplifted, tingly at the edges, with a dry mouth as the one tax on an otherwise award-winning combination.
Where it comes from
G13 Labs describe Blue OG as the product of careful selection across three strains, Blue Moonshine, a Kush and Thai hybrid, and Blueberry F3. That combination earned the plant a run of awards and made it a bestseller on both sides of the Atlantic, in the United States and across Europe. It is, in short, a Blueberry-heavy hybrid with Kush weight and a thread of Thai further back, a considered piece of work rather than a happy accident, and the shelf of trophies rather bears that out.
Nose & flavour
Earthy and sweet up front, pungent enough to make itself known before the jar is properly open, with blueberry and a clear skunk streak underneath. It does not travel discreetly, this is a nose that announces the room it is in, but the fruit keeps the whole thing from tipping into anything coarse. A loud aroma, well-mannered underneath.
The high
The high runs relaxed, happy and gently uplifted, with a tingle at the edges that keeps it from settling too heavily. At 16 percent THC it is sociable rather than sedating, pleasant company for an afternoon that still has plans in it. The one levy is a dry mouth, so keep water within reach and consider the account settled.
Growing it
The record is sparing on the growing figures, offering a flowering time of 60 to 65 days and little else, so rather than invent a height or a yield I will not have, I will note temperament instead. An award-winner and a proven commercial seller tends to be a plant that behaves predictably and finishes on schedule, and nine weeks or so of flower is a comfortable, unremarkable run. Judge her by the trophies until your own tent gives you better numbers.
