Seb Silverback

Wood and sweet blueberry on the nose, from a cross of Blue Mystic and Short Rider bred for a compact, stealth-friendly frame. The effect builds rather than announces itself — sleepy, relaxed, steadily euphoric — climbing with every puff rather than arriving all at once.

Where it comes from

Nirvana crossed Blue Mystic with Short Rider, the latter an autoflowering line, to bring the Blue Mystic character down into a smaller, self-timing plant. The Short Rider side is what makes her compact and resilient, and what lets her finish without waiting on a light schedule; the Blue Mystic side brings the lavender colouring and star-shaped leaves the breeders are so taken with. A stealth-minded strain, in other words, bred for the grower who would rather the plant kept its own counsel.

Nose & flavour

Wood and sweetness frame a core of blueberry, a slightly drier, woodier read on the family fruit than the photoperiod version offers. The effect is of ripe blueberry with a little cedar underneath, sweet without turning sugary. An understated nose to match an understated plant.

The high

This one does not announce itself so much as accumulate. It opens on a lifted mood and climbs with each pass, the euphoria arriving in stages rather than all at once, before the Indica side draws things down toward relaxed and eventually sleepy. A high that rewards patience over greed, take it steadily and it will meet you halfway.

Growing it

As an autoflower she runs from seed on her own clock, taking somewhere between nine and eleven weeks to finish, not the fastest, but reliable for it. The record gives no height, though the breeders describe a compact, resilient frame well suited to a discreet grow, so headroom should not trouble you. Indoor yields are modest at 200 to 300 g/m², which is the price of that small stature. She resists trouble well and colours up in lavender, so she asks little beyond the basics and gives back a tidy, good-looking harvest.
