Seb's take

Seb Silverback

Michigan Skunk crossed with a Mendo Purps line the Loud family had long run outdoors, the name nodding to Detroit's dividing road as much as the Skunk parent's postcode. Released as F3 regular seed stock, with an F5 batch once promised for some point in 2014 — the breeding, like the road, is still a work in progress.

Where it comes from

Michigan Skunk crossed with Purple Kush — or, in the breeder's own telling, a male skunk over a female Mendo Purps the Loud family had long run on their outdoor crops. The name nods to Detroit's own 8 Mile Road as much as to the Michigan skunk's postcode. What is offered are F3 regular seeds, with an F5 batch once promised for some point in 2014; the line, like the road, was a work still in progress. An 80 percent indica, built from working stock rather than showpieces.

Nose & flavour

The record keeps its flavour notes to itself, so none are invented here. The parentage points the way — a skunk's pungency crossed with the sweet, earthy depth of a purple Kush line — but the specifics are left unstated, and left unstated they will remain.

The high

No effect notes are recorded, and rather than guess at them, one defers to the makeup: 80 percent indica over a skunk-and-purple base, which points toward the heavier, settling end of things. The lineage suggests calm over stimulation, but the record declines to elaborate, and so does this.

Growing it

An indica-dominant plant with a quick turn — flowering in 49 to 56 days, fast by any measure. Yields land at 400 to 450 g/m², a solid return. Being regular seed stock, and F3 at that, she throws males and shows some variation plant to plant — raw material for a grower minded to select rather than a finished, uniform product. THC runs 15 to 19 percent; no height figure is recorded. Quick, sturdy, and honest about its stage of development.
